Escape the Night
The biggest launch campaigns for the biggest show on YouTube.
In this surreality elimination competition series, hosted by Joey Graceffa, 10 guests are invited from the modern world to travel back in time and confront ancient evils that threaten to tear the fabric of humanity apart.
Each season features a cast of top endemic YouTube Creators with a combined reach of 80-100m subscribers.
Season 3
Set in the fictional town of Everlock, this season of YouTube’s hit show featured a cast including gaming guru MatPat, trans makeup entrepreneur and model Nikita Dragun, bake-along legend Rosanna Pansino and comediean / face of Miranda Sings, Colleen Ballinger.
To launch the show, an immersive VR experience and bespoke key art was created at a custom fairground built on location outside LA. Produced in partnership with Google’s VR Daydream team and released at the VidCon fan festival in Anaheim, CA, fans were gifted Google Cardboard headsets to view the trailer, featuring a reworked cover of The Rolling Stones’ Sympathy for the Devil, before the cast took to the stage for a panel talk and meet and greet.
The campaign was nominated for a Streamy Award and made it to Forbes’ Best VR of the Year list.
Season 4
For this All-Stars season, starring everyone’s favourite troublemaker Tana Mongeau, the inimitable Bretman Rock and the controversy-courting Gabbie Hanna, everything had to be bigger.
The launch rollout began with a series of cast reveal clips “leaked” to social media, two series trailers and a key art takeover of prime billboard sites across Los Angeles. Once again, VidCon played host to the season premiere, with an exclusive screening attended by 4000 fans and the full cast followed by an immersive Escape the Night themed party incorporating set and props from the show.
