Guinness Storehouse Christmas

To celebrate the Christmas season at the World’s Leading Tourist Attraction, Dublin’s Guinness Storehouse, a suite of installations and pop-ups were created spanning visual art, interactive digital environments and large format installations.

A selection of emerging Irish artists were curated to deliver bespoke pieces inspired by the theme The Lights of Home. The central feature, a bespoke multi-tiered Christmas Tree, was the focus for a timed audio visual performance set to activate every 15 minutes, transforming the grand atrium of the Storehouse into a magical snowglobe of light and music, with a custom track from Kodaline’s Jay Boland.

The grand atrium was additionally decked with custom designed gigantic baubles suspended from the oxidised architectural struts running four floors from ground to roof height, playing with scale to evoke the childlike wonder of the season.

The immersive experience ran for 6 weeks from December 2023 to January 2024.

Role - Creative Director, Art Direction, artist selection, digital installation Executive Producer.

Nigerian-born Irish artist Farouk Alao used motion responsive LiDAR technology to guide visitors through four carefully reconstructed scenes from the Guinness archives, evoking the essence of Christmas traditions re-imagined through a contemporary cultural lens.
